The full, free, TTRPG wiki

This page outlines how powers work in this TTRPG system.

Powers allow your character to perform amazing feats, miraculous magic, or terrible spells.

Every individual power contains a brief mechanical description of exactly what the power does, and how it interacts with the rest of the game’s system’s.

Powers are the largest mechanical differentiator between characters. Most of your time during character creation will be focused on selecting powers, and power limiters.

Power Limiters

A Power Limiter is a limitation, weakness, or restriction placed on the use of a Power.

Power Limiters reduce the buy cost of powers, allowing you to purchase more powers.

See the full article on Power Limiters here.

Powers List Key

This key details each column or field of the powers list.

Name

The name of the power

Linked Skill

The skill which is linked to the power.  If the power has a skill rating requirement, this is the skill that is required.

Skill Req

The required rating of the skill that the power is linked with.  If your skill rating is lower than this number, you cannot buy the power.

Buy Cost

The buy cost of the power.  In character creation, this is the power’s cost.  When purchasing powers with experience, multiply the buy cost by 4. Note: You can reduce buy cost with power limiters.

Free powers

If the buy cost says “Free”, you get the power as long as you meet all the other pre-reqs for it.

Pre-Req Powers

Lists powers that are required before you can purchase this power.

Description

The mechanics for how the power works.

Test

If using the power requires a test, it will be noted in this field.

Passive or Active

Passive powers are “always on”.  Active powers need to be activated.  Activation costs and action types vary, and are detailed in later fields.

Duration

How long the power lasts.

Action Type

The action type required to use the power.

Energy Cost

The amount of energy you must pay to activate the power.

Extended Interval

If the action type is extended, this field will have the default interval required for this power.
